On October 19, a workshop dedicated to the summary of the "Preparation Support and Preparation Support" grant program and the presentation of the road map of green financing in the Republic of Armenia was held

On October 19 of this year, the workshop dedicated to the summary of the "Scaling up green finance practices in Armenia" grant program and the presentation of the green financing road map in the Republic of Armenia was held.
The "Scaling up green finance practices in Armenia" grant program was launched on May 15, 2020. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Environment, it was implemented by "ARMSWISSBANK" CJSC with financing from the Green Climate Fund. The main goal of the project was to increase experience and capacity in the field of green financing in the Republic of Armenia.
The Ministry of Environment, as the national authorized body of the Green Climate Fund, emphasizes the effective implementation of the grant programs "Support for Preparedness and Preparation Support" financed by the fund.
The mentioned programs provide an opportunity to develop and strengthen national capacities, which play a significant role in the implementation of the obligations undertaken by the Republic of Armenia under the Paris Agreement.
The workshop was attended by Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan, Acting Director of the Ministry's "Environmental Programs Implementation Office" State Institution Armen Yesoyan, Deputy Executive Director of "ARMSWISCBANK" CJSC, Director of Business Development Department Ara Makaryan, international and local experts, representatives of professional divisions from the Ministry of Environment and other state agencies, officials of the banking sector and financial institutions.
Welcoming the participants of the workshop online, Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan emphasized again the importance of the grant program and the involvement of the private sector in the process of its implementation.
"I think the program played a significant role in mobilizing the private sector around the climate agenda of the Republic of Armenia, ensuring the results planned in the program application with the participation of the main beneficiaries of the program."
At the workshop, Ara Makaryan, Deputy Executive Director of "ARMSWISSCBANK" CJSC, Director of the Business Development Department, presented the goals and actual results of the "Readiness Support and Preparation Support" grant program.
