Deputy Minister of Environment Tigran Gabrielyan made a working visit to the SNCO “Expert Center for Environmental Impact”

Deputy Minister of Environment Tigran Gabrielyan paid a working visit to the "Expert Center for Environmental Impact” SNCO.
The Deputy Minister coordinating this area discussed with the SNCO staff a wide range of issues regarding the reforms initiated at the Institute of EIA and the progress of their activities.
Acting Director of SNCO Khachik Martirosyan presented the current work to the Deputy Minister.
The SNCO "Expert Center for Environmental impact" carries out an examination of the types of activities and constituent documents provided for in its work program in the manner and within the time limits established by law.
2022. in January-March, applications for preliminary assessment and assessment reports of 74 planned activities and fundamental documents were submitted for environmental impact assessment in January-March.
In accordance with the established procedure, technical specifications were provided to 14 applications, conclusions on 24 types of activities were provided.
134 evaluation documents and evaluation reports are in the process of examination.
During 2021, the organization's specialists studied and gave the appropriate course to applications and evaluation reports for more than 400 planned events and constituent documents.
Issues of non-compliance with the examination deadlines, timely, reasonable, error-free preparation and submission of conclusions and technical tasks were considered at the meeting.
The draft amendment of the RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise was touched upon. In the context of changing the law, the Deputy Minister noted the importance of obtaining such a comprehensive result that will provide solutions to the existing problems in the sphere and help solve procedural misunderstandings.
It should be recalled that in 2021, the government allocated an additional 10.541.7 thousand drams from the reserve fund of the state budget for wages and expenses for the maintenance of SNCOs.
