Under the slogan "Early Warning, early action", the World Meteorological Day and the Meteorologist’s Day of the Republic of Armenia were solemnly celebrated

A solemn meeting dedicated to the World Meteorological Day and the days of the Forester, meteorologist in the Republic of Armenia was held, during which the results of the activities of the SNCO "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia for 2021 were summed up.
Deputy Ministers of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan and Anna Mazmanyan, Acting Director of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO Levon Azizyan spoke at the solemn meeting.
Congratulating his colleagues and emphasizing the symbolism of the Day, Levon Azizyan once again touched upon the importance of implementing prevention and adaptation measures.
Therefore, this year's slogan once again emphasizes the role of hydrometeorological information and forecasts in disaster risk reduction and attaches importance to those fundamental works aimed at implementing early actions as a result of early warning.
Thanks to the daily selfless work of our meteorologists, the governing bodies of the Republic, the population, aviation, economic entities in the fields of agriculture, energy, transport and other interested organizations are informed about actual and expected changes in hydrometeorological phenomena, as well as about possible consequences."
Deputy Minister Anna Mazmanyan, who coordinates the work of the SNCO, in her congratulatory message expressed gratitude to all those people and colleagues, thanks to whose efforts the sphere is developing.
"Covid-19 has increased the challenges facing society and weakened the mechanisms of struggle, but at the same time also showed that in a world interconnected with the fight against climate change, disaster risk reduction and sustainable development, we need to rely on an international approach. In this context, taking this opportunity, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, I would like to express gratitude to all our international partners, representatives of the private sector, thanks to whose support such programs are being implemented, they contribute to the development of the country's capabilities in this area," the Deputy Minister said.
Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan conveyed Minister Hakob Simidyan's congratulatory message to her colleagues and expressed gratitude for the work done.
"By combining our efforts in the conservation and restoration of forests, effective management of water resources, accurate weather forecasts, I am sure that together we can record progress towards solving the problems of the sphere. The role and importance of your work in a rapidly changing world is invaluable. The key to solving the numerous problems facing us is in your hands, dear colleagues," the Deputy Minister said.
On behalf of Minister Hakob Simidyan, the employees who contributed to the development of the organization and duly fulfilled their work duties were awarded certificates of encouragement.
