During the nationwide tree planting on the territory of the republic, about 130 hectares of tree planting were carried out, 451,000 planting materials were planted

As part of the global fight against climate change, Armenia has begun to expand forest territories.
On the initiative of the Ministry of Environment, on November 5, a nationwide tree planting was carried out throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of which, with the financing of the state budget, tree planting works were carried out in the Jermuk Forestry Department of the Vayots Dzor Forestry branch of the National Forestry Committee of the Armles Ministry, branches of Aragatsotna Forestry, Forestry Artsvaberda", "Tumanyan forestry" and "Sisian forestry".
The main forest-forming tree species were pine, ash, fig, apple, maple, oak, birch, argathill.
Representatives of government departments, educational institutions, international and public organizations took part in the nationwide tree planting.
The Republic of Armenia has adopted an agenda for the conservation and restoration of forests, pledging to double its forest cover by 2050, and this tree planting has become another step within the framework of this agenda.
