Today, Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan met with the delegation headed by the head of the team of the program "Environmental protection of Lake Sevan" (EU4Sevan) By Christian Henschel.

The meeting was attended by deputy ministers.
At the meeting, the Minister was presented with the objectives of the program and a report on the implementation of the program by components.
Welcoming his colleagues, Minister Hakob Simidyan stressed the importance of programs aimed at preserving and restoring the ecosystem of Lake Sevan for the Ministry.
"Lake Sevan is extremely important for the Republic of Armenia as the largest reserve of regional high-altitude fresh water. And we are ready to invest all our resources to promote the programs of comprehensive protection of Lake Sevan," the Minister said.
The head of the EU4Sevan program team, Christian Henschel, presented to the Minister and colleagues the work carried out within the framework of the Lake Sevan environmental protection program, according to the results, these are:
Result 1: Strengthening of water monitoring and management capabilities in the Lake Sevan basin,
Outcome 2: Improve the ability to implement ecosystem-friendly and water-saving land use and processing operations,
Result 3:  improvement of the wastewater treatment process in the vicinity of Lake Sevan, including by natural means, and development of the potential of the personnel involved in it,
Outcome 4: Increased environmental awareness,
Result 5: improve the management of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan.
The meeting was held in the format of active discussions, questions and answers:
Deputy ministers also made various proposals.
According to Minister Hakob Simidyan, such meetings provide an opportunity to directly discuss the problems and obstacles that have arisen in practice in order to take them into account during the organization of further work.
