The visit of the mission of international experts of the EEC to Armenia has started today within the framework of drawing up a hint for the second Environmental Performance Review of Armenia (Environmental Performance Review) by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (EEC).
The official start of the visit was attended by Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan, representatives of the Ministry's professional units, representatives of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body and the public sector.
Greeting international experts to Armenia, the Deputy Minister expressed satisfaction with the broad and inclusive circle of the expert team.
The Deputy Minister noted the importance of the work carried out in the coming days jointly with Armenian experts, and on behalf of the Ministry of Environment expressed readiness to contribute to this with both human resources, material and technical capabilities, and professional knowledge.
In her speech, Anna Mazmanyan touched upon the challenges difficult for Armenia in the previous period in the form of war and struggle, adding that despite the difficulties constantly overcome, stable management and dynamic development of the environment continues to be a priority for the Armenian government.
"Our Government, in particular, the Ministry of Environment, continues to remain faithful to its commitment to the implementation of reforms in the field and the obligations assumed by international conventions and treaties. We continue to move forward on the environmental agenda"- the Deputy Minister said.
Anna Mazmanyan thanked the specialists of the event and wished them good luck.
Lusine Avetisyan, Head of the Strategic Policy Department of the Ministry of the Environment, also made a speech and presented the legislative, strategic and institutional circle in the field of the environment.
