The students of Abovyan Multifunctional State College were hosted at the Ministry of Environment

role and participation of young people in eco-education and tackling the environmental bottlenecks facing the country.
In the course of the meeting, the Minister introduced the students to the spheres under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, the structure and functions of the ministry, referred to the sectorial reforms being implemented, primary issues and priorities.
The students had a direct and meaningful conversation through questions and answers: from the problems of Lake Sevan to forest management reforms, from the introduction of ecotourism component in specially protected areas of nature to mining and manageable environmental risks. Reflecting upon the problems of the sphere, Minister Petrosyan presented the position and approaches of the Ministry of Environment over thereof, the programs and steps targeted at solutions.
The Minister presented to the students the programs of cooperation with the higher educational institutions of the republic, spoke about the recently signed memorandum with Armenian National Agrarian University , within the framework of which students can have their training and production internships both in the central office of the Ministry and in the specially protected areas of nature (SPAs) spread throughout the country: in national parks, reserves, sanctuaries and arboretums.
The issues regarding the activities of certain structures and bodies operating within the Ministry of Environment were voiced.
Discussed the strengthening of ties with the students, the improvement of ecological upbringing, the works performed in that direction.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister presented the Red Book of Plants and Animals of the Republic of Armenia to the library of the college. They will use their education and potential for the strengthening and progress of Armenia.
