The Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan and Deputy Minister Anna Mazmanyan visited the “Ayb” School.
The Minister visited the school to get acquainted with the programs implemented in the field of science, to meet the authors of the RenéMask project, who in the prestigious The Earth Prize 2022 appeared in the top ten of 516 schools from 114 countries.
Accompanied by the executive director of the school, David Sahakyan, the Minister toured the school, got acquainted with the school's capabilities, the educational environment, and the projects implemented by the students.
Ecological behavior and caring attitude to the environment at the “Ayb” school are always in the spotlight. The school has a team of "Eco" social activities. Students volunteer to initiate and conduct subbotniks, posters, create disturbing videos and organize information events both in "Ayb" and outside the school in different places of Armenia.
The students-authors of the RenéMask project in the school laboratory told the minister about their project on the processing of medical masks and in practice showed an excerpt from the experiments.
The Minister expressed his admiration that a different approach to the teaching process can stimulate the initiative of students, developing their innovative thinking and creativity.
"Students can and should be involved in the process of changing and improving the quality of life and thinking in their community, in the environment," Minister Hakob Simidyan said during a direct conversation with students and teachers and expressed hope that students and graduates of the school will apply their knowledge and skills to our common vision of creating a greener and developing environment.
At the same time, the Minister promised to provide a platform where school students will cooperate with representatives of the Ministry of Environment to apply their knowledge in a more practical field and, why not, enrich the field with new ideas.
