The influence of climate risks on the yield of 12 crops is modeled

The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK), the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” of the Ministry of the Environment and the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) jointly modeled the historical and predicted impact of climate risks on the yield of wheat, barley, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, apples, quinces, pears, apricots, peaches and cherries in Armenia.
The goal of the joint program is to understand the impact of climate change on agricultural production in Armenia, contributing to ensuring economic stability and food security in the country.
This work should become the basis for creating a risk management tool that will help Armenian farmers develop the potential for adaptation to climate change.
