The aim of the "Environmental Protection of Lake Sevan " (EU4Sevan) program (EU contribution: 5,000,664.00 euros) is to support cooperation on environmental safety, protection, improvement and restoration, as well as the sustainable use of natural resources, including water quality and resource management. That is why the "EU4SEVAN" program was one of the organizers of the hackathon, in which more than 100 students applied.
The overall goal of the project was to support relevant government agencies by improving lake monitoring and management and solving water quality issues. The latter will contribute to the improvement of livelihoods, creating a more attractive environment for tourists, better conditions for fishing, local agriculture and a wide range of economic potential.
