The 2021 performance of the Ministry of Environment was discussed in the NA Standing Committee

The RA Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan presented the 2021 budget at the March 16 regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection. Execution of programs implemented by the Ministry.
Minister Hakob Simidyan said that the Ministry in 2021 carried out his activities in accordance with the 20 priority areas of management of the sphere, fixed by the government program.
The Armenian government has approved "actions established at the national level within the framework of the Paris Agreement for 2021-2030", according to which Armenia undertakes to ratify the treaty on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union by 2030 increase of forest cover in the amount of 12.9% of the territory of Armenia, as well as reduction of greenhouse gases by 40 - in 1990 compared to the level of emissions.
2021 The EU-Sevan (EU4Sevan e) Lake Sevan Environmental Protection Program, co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany, has been launched. The total budget of the project is 5.7 million euros. The project aims to improve the water ecosystem, monitoring and management of the Lake Sevan catchment area. Due to the equipment acquired at a total cost of about 132 million drams in 2021. On the area of 4.18 hectares, cleaning works of the water-covered areas of Lake Sevan were carried out.
Minister Hakob Simidyan also presented other works carried out by the Ministry.
