The Department of Land and Land Policy of the Ministry of Environment conducted an expert mission within the framework of the EU support tool Taiex

From 6 to 8 February 2023, the Department of Land and Land Policy of the Ministry of the Environment, within the framework of the EU support tool Taiex, carried out an expert mission, the main purpose of which was to present EU best practices, discuss the national legislative and institutional system and identify possible areas of convergence.
During the three-day seminar, experts from Romania and Germany presented the procedures for managing and monitoring underground cavities of subsurface use waste facilities on the example of their countries, as well as the EU. Agreements were reached on the exchange of best practices and cooperation with the Nga.
After the ratification of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Expanded Partnership Agreement in 2018, the Ministry of Environment initiated work on the development of a roadmap aimed at implementing the chapters of the agreement "environment" and "climate change". Since 2019, the Ministry of Environment has started work on the implementation of activities under the chapters "Environment and climate change" of the roadmap of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Expanded Partnership Agreement.
Chapter 5 "Environment" provides for more than 100 measures aimed at the convergence of national legislation in accordance with more than two dozen EU directives. As a result of convergence, progress can be made in the field of environmental quality protection and restoration, waste management, environmental impact assessment and strategic environmental assessment, eco-education, environmental responsibility, cross-border cooperation, public access to information related to the environment.
At the end of the expert mission, the EU partners got acquainted with the unique exhibits of the Geological Museum and visited Garni -a unique geological monument "basalt organ".
