The introduction of a waste management system based on the principle of extended producer or importer responsibility in Armenia is a really important tool that will contribute to the development of a closed-cycle economy, reduce the impact of products and their packaging on the environment and will stimulate the implementation of the "polluter pays" principle, assigning responsibility to the manufacturer for the entire life cycle of products.
It is very important to note that if such a system is implemented in the country, favorable conditions will be created for the introduction of environmentally safe products to the market, while at the same time ensuring that the costs of waste management associated with manufactured or imported products will be initially brought to the manufacturer or importer.
