Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan took part in the leadership dialogue organized within the framework of the Stockholm+50 International Forum

Leadership dialogues are designed to contribute to the results of Stockholm+50 by providing clear proposals and calls for action at all levels.
The purpose of the dialogues is to unite the world community to promote cooperation and give a new impetus to the process of implementing innovative actions.
Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan made a speech, during which he touched upon the importance of implementing environmental adaptation measures in the process of ensuring resilience to the challenges of climate change and the vision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia of a green future.
"According to the latest data, the forest territory of Armenia is about 11.2% of the total territory of the country, which makes Armenia a country with a rare forest cover. On the other hand, our country has committed itself to bring the country's forest coverage to 12.9% by 2030, which means that new forests will be added with thousands of hectares, and we have already started this process. Moreover, the Republic of Armenia initiated the process of updating the national forest policy and strategy. This will become an important tool for further facilitating the process of formation of Armenia's forests and harmonizing the interests of the forest sector with the interests of these spheres," the Deputy Minister said.
Summing up the results of his speech, Aram Meimaryan once again expressed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia his readiness to join the global efforts to protect and improve the environment.
