Round table Discussion dedicated to the International Youth Day. The Montreal Protocol in the context of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
On August 12, 2022, in the conference hall of the UN office, the Ministry of the Environment, within the framework of the program "Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building", implemented jointly with the UNIDO, organized a round table discussion dedicated to the International Youth Day on the topic "The Montreal Protocol in the context of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development for 2030.
Advice of the day for those who own Yerevan. The students of Achemyan Regional State College No. 2, Armavir Regional State College and Ararat Regional State College studying in the specialty "refrigeration" were welcomed and sent their message by Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan, Representative of UNIDO in Armenia Anahit Simonyan and Head of the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator Denis Sumpf.
The speakers of the meeting presented the UN as an institution of international cooperation, balance and problem solving, the goals and activities of the establishment of the UNIDO, the goals of sustainable development and the preservation of the ozone layer in their context.
Special attention was paid to the role of youth as a driving force of society, urging not to stay away from international steps aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
The representatives expressed the hope that their professional recommendations and technical assistance to industry partners will give the expected results and will give in the future, and also wished future specialists increased self-confidence and creative thinking, independence and state thinking.
