Within the framework of the program "Environmental Protection of Lake Sevan" (EU4Sevan), funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany, a target discussion meeting was organized in Gegharkunik region with the participation of representatives of the media, state and community structures of the region, beneficiaries of the program.
5 components of the four-year EU4Sevan program are professionally presented:
- Monitoring and management of water in the drainage basin of Lake Sevan,
- implementation of land use and treatment measures that are favorable for the ecosystem and water conservation,
- improvement of wastewater treatment, including natural solutions,
- raising awareness and accessibility of information on the protection of Lake Sevan among the basin communities, the private sector and other stakeholders,
- Improvement of the ecosystem management of Lake Sevan.
The beneficiaries of the EU4Sevan program shared their support for the EU4Sevan program, their experience in growing non-traditional agricultural plants using natural and innovative methods:
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the EU4Sevan program stated that constructive cooperation with representatives of the Gegharkunik region media had been initiated, which would contribute to identifying the problems of Lake Sevan for the benefit of Lake conservation.
