The launch seminar of the grant program "Transition towards electric mobility in Armenia" and the first meeting of the Management Council were held.
The grant program "Transition towards electric mobility in Armenia" is carried out by the state institution " Environmental Projects Implementation Unit " of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, according to the agreement concluded between Environmental Projects Implementation Unit "EPIU" and the UN Environment Program.
The duration of the program is 3 years. Its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, stimulating the transition to electric mobility. The program is implemented with the financing of the Global Environment Facility, the UN Environment Program, as well as with the co-financing of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The program consists of 3 components, which are presented below:
Component 1. Institutionalization and strategic planning of low-carbon mobility,
Component 2. Eliminating short-term barriers with low-carbon electric mobility demonstration programs,
Component 3. Policy development based on the experience of the pilot program with the aim of expanding and reproducibility of low-carbon electric mobility.
