A public hearing of the revised version of the Southern Basin Management Plan was held today.
"National Adaptation Program to promote the planning of medium- and long-term adaptation in Armenia "   "Geoinfo " LLC carries out work on the revision and updating of management plans for the territories of the Southern and Ararat Basin Management.
Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan spoke at the discussion, emphasizing the role of public hearings.
"The main goal of the southern basin management plan is to balance the interrelated relations between water users, including agriculture, fisheries, industry, energy and the environment, as well as to assist the bodies responsible for water resources management, administrative bodies and society in making decisions in the field of water resources and, ultimately, their rational and efficient use," the Deputy Minister said.
The Southern Basin Management Plan was supplemented by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No. 64-N dated January 20, 2005 "On criteria for sanitary protection of aquatic ecosystems, flow formation, groundwater Protection, establishment of water protection territories, ecotones and inalienable zones", approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No. 64-N "On criteria for the Protection of Territories and Territories Vulnerable to Nitrates.
According to the plan, the water balance of the basin management area was assessed and the water carrier and water carrier were recalculated.
The Basin Management Plan is a comprehensive document of the basin management, which describes the actions for the management and protection of the basin that are necessary for the implementation of the objectives of the RA Water Code.
