A meeting of the Coordinating Council of the program " Environmental Protection of Lake Sevan" was held

A meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Lake Sevan Environmental Protection Program was held, which was attended by Deputy Minister of the Environment Aram Meimaryan, Head of the Cooperation Department of the EU Delegation to Armenia Frank Hess, International Aid/Cooperation Officer of the EU Delegation to Armenia Andrea Baggioli, Director of GIZ Armenia Madeleine Rauschenberger, Head of the EU4Sevan Program Group Christian Henschel, Permanent Representative of UNDP in Armenia Konstantin Sokulsky.
Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan delivered a speech at the council meeting and once again stressed the importance of the program for Lake Sevan.
"The development of the environment, agriculture, energy and other sectors of the economy of the Republic of Armenia is closely connected with the use of Lake Sevan's water resources, especially with its quantitative and qualitative characteristics.
Considering the need for integrated and unified planning and implementation of the ecological, social, and economic functions of Lake Sevan and its coastal zone, we attach particular importance to the program "Environmental Protection of Lake Sevan" (EU4Sevan).
The implementation of the program helps us to unlock the potential of Lake Sevan, as well as to compare the existing agendas and visions around it," the Deputy Minister noted and noted that the priority task is not only to ensure the sequence of steps provided for by the program, but also to achieve significant results in the field of environmental protection of Lake Sevan and fundamental reform of the sphere.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the progress of the program were discussed, and the potential of cooperation between the program partners was again emphasized.
