"Practice of implementing a circular economy "professional course / workshop

On October 26 of this year, the 2nd stage of the professional seminar "Practice of implementing a circular economy ", funded by the European Union in the framework of actions for the environment, took place:
The purpose of the seminar is to promote the EU-funded UNDP (UNIDO) and Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) component implemented by the Armenian office of the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus Armenia) and is designed to stimulate the activities of SMEs by improving their environmental behavior and resource efficiency.
The online seminar, which was organized on the Zoom platform, was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Environment and Economy of the Republic of Armenia, educational and public organizations involved in the SME program, as well as experts of the RECP program:
The following topics were discussed during the meeting:
Circular economy is more than recycling, existing circular economy strategies and how to work with them, disclosure of circular activities for organizations, identification, implementation and monitoring of circular solutions for Armenian enterprises:
the Senior Technical Consultant of the UNDP (UNIDO) Dr. Johannes Fresner, presented examples of circular practice, elements of a circular business model and strategy, opportunities and obstacles applied to SMEs in Armenia.
During the seminar, the experts of the RECP program presented the results of research conducted at this stage for small and medium-sized enterprises in Armenia, as well as proposals and solutions. Proposals were presented on obtaining and using biogas for two companies producing dairy products in the Vayots Dzor and Syunik, to get a new product based on whey, to install solar panels.
The possibilities of obtaining feed from waste in fishing companies, which are already used, were discussed. Options for energy-saving solutions, reuse of textile waste, as well as the offer of whey ricotta were considered.
