A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the “Environment and Health “ NGO

In order to promote the development of environmental education in the Republic of Armenia, raise public awareness, form environmental awareness, train, retrain environmental specialists and present scientific innovative ideas for solving environmental problems, the Ministry of Environment represented by Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan and the "Environment and Health" NGO represented by President Liana Margaryan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Congratulating his colleagues on signing the memorandum, the Deputy Minister also thanked the "Environment and Health" NGO for assistance in implementing the state policy in the field of environmental education.
Therefore, the formation of a new ecological thinking based on the principles of the joint development of nature and society is impossible without universal environmental education and upbringing.
We also attach great importance to the fact that Lake Sevan and its problems are especially at the center of your activities. It is important that every citizen of the Republic of Armenia realize that not only a resident of Gegharkunik region, but also himself is responsible for the problems of Lake Sevan. And the formation of this consciousness can be achieved again only through high-quality environmental education and competent awareness campaigns.
We hope that on the basis of the obligations arising from this memorandum, from now on your activities will contribute to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to promote and ensure environmental education at all school levels and in communities," the Deputy Minister said.
By the Memorandum, the parties undertake to cooperate in the following areas:
- environmental education and education of "eco-friendly" behavior, including relevant legislative and institutional regulations,
- training and professional advice on environmental topics,
- dissemination of environmental information using informal eco-educational mechanisms,
- presentation and implementation of innovative scientific solutions.
Within the framework of the memorandum, eco-educational events for schoolchildren and youth, open lessons, seminars, as well as study visits and other similar events will be organized, which will be aimed at the development of environmental education, will contribute to the training of future environmental specialists and increase interest in this area.
Meetings, discussions, webinars will be held with leading experts in the field, employees of the ministry and students, pupils and teachers, thereby stimulating an increase in interest in the profession of ecology, exchange of experience and knowledge, familiarization of future environmentalists with the labor market, as well as presentation of the best international practices and innovative ideas aimed at solving environmental problems,
Informal educational mechanisms will be developed -environmental games, animated presentations, quizzes, competitions, which will make the recognition of environmental problems and solutions by society easily understandable and applicable.
