Legal acts of the forest sector will comply with the requirements of the Constitution

Today, Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan presented the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the RA Forest Code" for discussion in the National Assembly.
According to Parts 1 and 2 of Article 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, state and local self-government bodies and officials have the right to perform only those actions for which they are authorized by the Constitution or laws.
"It follows from this that the government and state bodies can adopt regulatory legal acts if the decision-making powers are established either by the Constitution or by laws," Deputy Environment Minister Aram Meimaryan said, presenting the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the RA Forest Code.
Aram Meimaryan explained that many normative legal acts regulating the forest sector are currently in force, but there are no norms in the Code that allow them.
It is expected that by adopting the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the RA Forest Code", legal acts of the forest sector will comply with the requirements of the Constitution.
Member of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection David Danielyan said that the commission gave a positive conclusion to the project.
