Improvement works are being done in Berd "Sorans" arboretum

Berd "Sorans" arboretum under the auspices of the "Reserve Park Complex" SNCO of the Ministry of Environment was founded in 1962 in the mountainous meadow landscape of the southern part of the town of Berd, Tavush region. It occupies an area of 62.17 hectares.
About 143 species of trees were imported from different regions of Armenia and from abroad. The arboretum consists of 110 species of trees belonging to about 30 families of 73 species.
Especially well adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of the area are Western poison, common fir, silver-prickly spruce, virgin juniper, Himalayan cedar, Crimean pine, small linden and other species.
