From January 1, 2022, the sale of plastic bags and pockets will be banned

The widespread use of plastic bags and pockets in the trade and service sectors in the country has led to environmental problems.
The average period of use of plastic bags up to 50 microns thick is 10-15 minutes, and its decomposition in nature takes more than 400 years.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 17 in the second reading it fully adopted the draft law on amendments to the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Trade and Services" - 105 votes in favor and 1 abstention.
The sale of plastic bags and pockets up to 50 microns thick (with the exception of weighing bags and those made from secondary raw materials) at trade facilities and places of trade, including retail outlets, will be banned.
