The final seminar and meeting of the Council of the UNDP-GCF program "National adaptation program in Armenia" took place

The final workshop and meeting of the Board of the UNDP-GCF program "National adaptation program in Armenia" took place, during which the beneficiaries were presented with the work and results carried out during the program.
More than 90 events, more than 3,200 participants, 5 sectoral, 2 regional and 1 city adaptation program, atlas of climatic and related natural hazards for Shirak and Lori oblasts, sectoral and regional assessments of vulnerability to climate risks, development of a system for monitoring and assessment of adaptation, 9 manuals, trainings for decision makers, journalists, students and teachers and much more.
During the event, he made a welcoming speech
Deputy Environment Minister Gayane Gabrielyan and UNDP Permanent Representative Natia Natsvlishvili arrived, who stressed the timeliness and importance of actions aimed at combating climate change in Armenia and reducing its impact.
Launched in 2019, the program " National Adaptation Program to Promote Medium- and Long-term Adaptation Planning in Armenia" was implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Armenia with the coordination of the Ministry of Environment and financing of the Green Climate Fund.
The purpose of the program was to assist the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the process of developing a national adaptation program, to help strengthen the fundamental capabilities of sustainable development through systematic consistent actions and to prioritize the implementation of measures to adapt to climate change in 6 vulnerable target areas: agriculture, water resources, human settlements, health, tourism and energy.
