Event at the National Agrarian University of Armenia dedicated to the International Day of Forests

Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan and Chairman of the Forestry Committee Vladimir Kirakosyan took part in the event dedicated to the International Day of Forests at the National Agrarian University of Armenia.
Greeting those present, the Deputy Minister congratulated forest scientists and representatives of the field on their professional holiday and noted the importance of their mission and role in the management and protection of forests.
Within the framework of the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on sustainable management, protection, restoration, afforestation and efficient use of resources, the Deputy Minister highlighted the improvement of the Ecocrystal environment in the Republic and the increase in the level of eco-similarity of society.
"I consider the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2021 between the Ministry of Environment and the National Agrarian University of Armenia to be an important progress in this direction.
On the way to implementing forest management and planting programs, the Ministry of the Environment in its subordinate units needs to attract young specialists from the Agrarian University, scientific, educational, research, consulting services and exchange of experience," Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan said.
The Deputy Minister expressed hope that those present are united and guided by a common vision of forest conservation and restoration, and that through ongoing legislative, as well as long-term reforms and combining the efforts of all in the foreseeable future we will achieve this cherished goal.
Chairman of the Forestry Committee Vladimir Kirakosyan also made a speech.
During the event, representatives of the sphere made presentations, after which a panel discussion was held on the topic "Cooperation for the sustainable management of forests in Armenia".
