At the initiative of the RA Ministry of Environment and UNICEF, a discussion-presentation of the methodology for identifying climate risks at the local level took place.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan, Head of the Department of Development of Disaster Risk Reduction Policy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aslanyan, Director of the Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform Ara Bersegyan, representatives of UNICEF and UNDP.
During the meeting, the authors of the study senior expert on disaster risk management Ashot Sargsyan and disaster risk management expert Susan Mnatsakanyan presented a study on identifying climate risks with a revised methodology for risk management at the local level, conducted in the city of Alaverdi and in the community of Tumanyan, enlarged.
The study was conducted at the initiative of UNICEF within the framework of the component "assessment of climate risk at the local level" of the program "Youth for a favorable climate", implemented by the foundation "National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction" with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency.
