Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan paid a working visit to the “Environmental Impact Assessment Center” SNCO The Deputy Minister, who coordinates the sphere, discussed with the staff of the SNCO a wide range of issues related to the draft amendments to the RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and expertise, the reforms initiated at the EIA Institute, its status and progress of activities.
"Environmental Impact Assessment Center" SNCO carries out an examination of the activities provided for in its work program and the main documents in the manner and time limits established by law.
2022. In January-March, 74 applications for a preliminary assessment of the planned activities and basic documents and assessment reports were submitted for the environmental impact assessment,
In accordance with the established procedure, 14 applications were provided with technical specifications, conclusions were issued for 24 types of activities,
134 documents of evaluation applications and evaluation reports are in the process of examination,
During the expert process, the organization's specialists are sent to the relevant impact communities on the territory of the Republic of Armenia to present to the public draft technical specifications and conclusions of the planned activities and participate in public discussions.
The Deputy Minister discussed with colleagues the possibilities of implementing programs aimed at developing their professional capabilities.
"The establishment of the EIA institute is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Environment. And the primary and important precondition for the establishment of this institution is the strengthening of the professional capabilities of the staff of the SNCO. It is necessary to improve the quality of services as much as possible," the Deputy minister said.
A number of instructions were given not to violate the terms of the examination, timely, reasonable, error-free preparation and submission of conclusions and technical tasks.
Recall that in 2021, the government allocated an additional 10.541.7 thousand drams from the reserve fund of the state budget for salaries and expenses for the maintenance of SNCO.
