Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan met with the First Deputy Executive Director of the Green Climate Foundation Javier Manzanares

Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan met with Javier the First Deputy Executive Director of the Green Climate Foundation Javier Manzanares in Glasgow as part of #COP26.
Anna Mazmanyan thanked her colleague for the meeting, reminding that ecology knows no borders and in order to achieve significant results in solving environmental problems, it is necessary first of all to combine efforts.
Anna Mazmanyan presented the areas under her coordination in the Ministry of Environment: international cooperation, sustainable forest management, Waste Management and specially protected natural areas.
The Deputy Minister noted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation between the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Armenia, and in this context stressed the importance of close cooperation to ensure the financing of ongoing programs.
There are ongoing discussions with the Green Climate Foundation on the continuation of the Green Climate Foundation's program "increasing forest resistance in Armenia through mitigation measures through adaptation and expansion of green zones in rural areas", which will greatly contribute to the implementation of the climate change mitigation strategy and strengthen the huge opportunities for forest adaptation, which will be implemented mainly by reducing forest degradation, planting new forests and managing existing forests.
The programs implemented with the financing of the Green Climate Fund were discussed, and for 2022 Armenia identified its priority in this area and presented as a proposal to the fund, namely, the management of electronic waste.
The First Deputy Executive Director of the Green Climate Foundation Javier Manzanares expressed his readiness to contribute to the deepening of long-term cooperation between the foundation and Armenia, also emphasizing the importance of the "Armenia National Cooperation Program".
