Meeting with representatives of the private sector within the framework of the program "Technical Advisory Support to Armenia on Enabling the Uptake of Electric Vehicle Mobility " funded by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by the Ministry of Environment.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities and directions related to the development of the sphere, to identify existing obstacles, as well as to put forward approaches to solve them.
Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan noted that it is very important at the initial stage of the program to voice all the problems that representatives of the private sector expect from the state, so that they may be taken into account at the stage of drafting legal acts.
The Deputy Minister said that such meetings will be lengthy, and the agreed programs will be discussed with the respective beneficiaries separately.
The program "Technical Advisory Support to Armenia on Enabling the Uptake of Electric Vehicle Mobility" consists of 4 components, within which:
Assistance will be provided to the Ministry of the Environment in the development of policies and legal regulations aimed at increasing the number of electric vehicles,
Proposals will be presented to stimulate the participation of the private sector and international financial institutions in the process of financing sectors and related infrastructures,
A program will be developed to expand charging stations and related infrastructures,
A methodology for informing the public, as well as evaluating the results, will be developed in order to promote an increase in the number of electric vehicles.
