 Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan met the delegation led by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Armenia Petr Pirunchik.
Heads of professional departments of the Ministry participated in the meeting.
Welcoming his colleagues in the Ministry of Environment, Minister Hakob Simidyan congratulated Petr Pirunchik on his appointment and referred to the Armenian-Czech intergovernmental relations and, in particular, the cooperation in the field of environment, describing them as having a rich agenda and effective.
The minister expressed hope that cooperation in the field of environment will become more active during the ambassador's tenure.
In that context, the minister referred to the three memorandums and current programs signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Czech Republic on cooperation in the field of environment.
Discussed in particular:
 - Possible options for inventory and study of living resources in Lake Sevan,
 - Possibilities of holding COP29 in the Republic of Armenia,
 - Fight against forest fires,
 - Possibilities of solid household waste processing.
The steps taken by each of them, the legislative reforms were discussed with the ambassador and an agreement was reached to deepen the cooperation with the expectation of more objective support.
During the meeting, the two-year twinning program "Strengthened conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia in accordance with European standards" implemented by the consortium of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Finland under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment and funded by the EU was discussed.  The purpose of the Twinning Project is to support the implementation of the obligations assumed by the RA-EU Agreement (CEPA) in the field of biodiversity conservation and effective management of specially protected areas, outlining a new legislative framework.
The parties agreed to make all possible efforts to have a healthier environment before the day.
