The Ministry of Environment circulated the package of the draft law "On the Environmental Protection Service of the Republic of Armenia" on the unified website for the publication of legal acts and drafts, on the e-draft.am platform.
With the establishment of the Environmental Protection Service, instead of 506 forest guards and 345 inspectors of specially protected natural areas of "Hayantar" SNOC, it is planned to create an Environmental Protection Service consisting of 1217 staff units with a working time of 24 hours, instead of 8 hours.
As a result of the adoption of the projects, the status of the environmental protection service, as well as the functions of the protection of forests and specially protected natural areas, the powers of state supervision and control over the application of environmental protection legislation will be specified.
