Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan met Aram Gharibyan, Consultant on economic programs of the Regional Development and Competitiveness Fund "Dar", Vladimir Babayan, legal adviser, and Ashot Bleyan, consultant of educational programs

The Minister has been presented with the Gagarin project, which will make it possible to form self-sufficient communities with a developing and innovative way of life.
The Regional Development and Competitiveness Fund "Dar" is implementing a regional development program.
The environmental component of the project is presented to the Minister. energy, agricultural, urban and tourist infrastructures with modern solutions will be created.
It is planned to restore the Hrazdan riverbed, use mountain reservoirs and other water sources for irrigation of agricultural land.
Promoting biodiversity, managing water resources and improving the ecosystem are important for the future of the Gagarin Valley.
The program will also contribute to improving the quality of life of residents of rural communities.
The project provides for the creation of a competitive educational ecosystem. The project considers the creation of a regional geo-professional educational and production cluster through the involvement of international specialized partners and the reassessment of local traditions and potential as a key component of the education sector.
An agricultural college and an innovation center will be founded, which will become a center for the transfer of knowledge and technology for the development of an internationally competitive agricultural cluster.
The Minister stated that it is especially important that the implementation of the project is aimed at the territorial development of the villages of Gagarin, Geghamavan, Ddmashen, Zovaber, Tsakhkunk, Varser of the Sevan community of Gegharkunik region.
"The more developed and established communities of Gegharkunik region are, the less pressure there is on Lake Sevan. The formation of an exemplary environmental habitat and behavior in the communities of the Lake Sevan basin is one of our priorities",- the Minister noted and promised to do everything possible within his powers and capabilities so that significant progress in the field of environmental protection and protection would be recorded as a result of the project.
