By the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy EIA Tigran Gabrielyan, as part of the RA government delegation, participates in the 6th meeting of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Prague


By the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Minister of Environment Tigran Gabrielyan, as part of the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, participates in the 6th meeting of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic cooperation in Prague.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister made a speech, highly appreciating the importance of the session in terms of exploring new opportunities for cooperation and consolidating aspirations around common visions and goals.
Tigran Gabrielyan touched upon the Armenian-Czech cooperation in the field of the environment and said that the governments of our countries adhere to the same point of view regarding the problems of environmental protection and mutually consider them as a high priority.
"I would like to confirm our readiness to expand our cooperation in this area. Given the importance of integrating economic and environmental policies, we believe that the best economic decisions are definitely made only after taking into account environmental components," the Deputy Minister said.
An agreement was reached on the exchange of experience and cooperation within the framework of priority areas, using financial sources of multilateral environmental agreements.
The exchange of experience and cooperation will be carried out, in particular՝
- Management of protected areas and forests, afforestation, reforestation, prevention of forest fires, planning and management of forest resources, forest inventory and creation of information systems,
- Management and protection of water resources,
- Waste and hazardous materials management,
- Development of the application of the best technological mechanisms in the fields of atmospheric air protection and water resources management,
- Implementation of measures to adapt to climate change in the field of water resources,
- Wastewater treatment and its secondary use;
- Improvement and modernization of the environmental monitoring system
- Development of knowledge and abilities for the management of abandoned mining waste and mitigation of harmful consequences,
- On the introduction of a system of environmental taxes and payments for the use of natural resources and in other areas.
The Deputy Minister once again stressed the importance of confronting the environmental challenges of the future in accordance with multilateral agreements.
