Biodegradable bags, eco bags: What will be the alternatives to plastic bags from January?

The primary goal of the Ministry of Environment is to reduce plastic and to raise public awareness of the harmful effects of polyethylene. This is a possible step towards preventing emerging global environmental problems.
3600-4000 tons of polyethylene bags are consumed annually in the Republic, which makes about 30% of the produced polyethylene bags and sacks. Exposed polyethylene bags are stored for a long time, do not undergo biological degradation, as a result of which they cause persistent pollution. Their remnants pollute Armenia's water resources, as well as areas adjacent to resorts and tourist destinations.
