The Ministry of the Environment, attaching importance to the issue of increasing the responsibility of the population for nature within the framework of the "10 million trees" initiative, made a proposal for cooperation a few months ago.
The Ministry initiated a meeting attended by representatives of a dozen Armenian banks and offered to join the initiative of nationwide tree planting, contributing to the creation of green future of Armenia.
"ARMSWISSBANK" CJSC was the first to respond to the offer of cooperation.
And so, on November 14, on the day of the nationwide tree planting, the management staff and employees of ARMSWISSBANK CJSC made a practical contribution within the framework of the "10 million trees" initiative and planted 3,000 seedlings on the territory of the Byurakan Forest State of the "Aragatsotn Forestry" branch, establishing a forest with an area of 1 hectare.
The Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan and the staff of the Ministry also joined the planting of trees.
In his speech of gratitude, the Minister emphasized the effective cooperation of the public and private sectors aimed at environmental protection, the introduction of the principles of recycling and the creation of green jobs.
"ARMSWISSBANK CJSC, attaching importance to the great role of social responsibility and nature conservation, was the first to respond to the offer of cooperation of the RA Ministry of Environment.
Green financing is one of the strategic directions of the bank, therefore the Bank's participation in such events will continue. The Management of the Bank is aware that the state-private sector cooperation is exceptional in the state-building of Armenia, which is reflected in other projects implemented with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia," said Executive Director of "ARMSWISSBANK" CJSC Gevorg Machanyan.
This event was the best example of state-business cooperation.
