The results of the Adaptation Fund monitoring mission have been summed up

From April 3-7, the Adaptation Fund monitoring mission (members of the delegation: Mahamat Asuyuti, Martina Dorigo, Alice Gomez) visited Armenia in order to get acquainted with the results of the programs implemented by the state institution "Office for the Implementation of Environmental Programs" of the Ministry of Environment, to collect, analyze, evaluate information on successful experience and disseminate it within the framework of the fund.
According to the decision of the Foundation's board, three programs implemented by the NCIG State Institution were studied during the visit:
"Waste and Flood Management of the closed quarry of the city of Artik",
"Strengthening the adaptive capabilities of ecosystems and communities adjacent to specially protected natural territories of Armenia",
"Attracting future leaders. creation of a digital educational module on adaptation issues and best practices for young people".

A meeting was held with Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan, the results of the implemented programs and successful experience were presented. The Minister noted the importance of the effectiveness of programs that will strengthen further cooperation for the benefit of the formation and development of the environment,
Meetings with beneficiaries were held within the framework of the grant program " Waste and Flood Management of the closed quarry of the city of Artik ",
A meeting was held with the Vice-Governor of Shirak to present the progress of the program in the region, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with the fund,
Meetings with beneficiaries were held within the framework of the program "strengthening the adaptation opportunities of ecosystems and communities adjacent to the protected areas of Armenia",
A meeting was held with the head of the Vedi community to discuss the work carried out in the community with the funding of the foundation and the possibilities of further cooperation,
Dilijan was attended by "attracting future leaders. presentation and testing of the eco-educational module created within the framework of the program "creation of a digital educational module on adaptation problems and best practices for young people,
In Dilijan, they visited the territory of the program "Strengthening the adaptive capabilities of ecosystems and communities adjacent to the protected areas of Armenia", met and conducted interviews with beneficiaries - a field school, greenhouses, dryers, irrigation systems, contractors.
The results of the monitoring mission will be evaluated by the delegation in the near future after their summing up. Successful implementation of the program will make it possible to finance new programs.
