From May 29 to 30, Jermuk hosted the 2022-2023 meeting of the memorandum "On cooperation between the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation in the field of environmental protection". the first meeting of the working group for the implementation of measures.
The Armenian side of the working group was headed by Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan, and the Russian side by Ivan Alexandrovich Kush, head of the international cooperation and climate change department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
The meeting took place in a warm, partnership atmosphere.
The heads of the delegations made welcoming speeches, highlighting the importance of the first meeting of the working group and expressed hope for more effective cooperation in the future.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on national policy and state control of environmental protection and wise use of natural resources.
During the meeting, a wide range of environmental issues were discussed.
The parties exchanged experience in the following areas:
waste management,
Protection of atmospheric air,
Effective management of water resources,
Development of specially protected nature areas and biodiversity protection system,
Forest policy.
A special reference was made to the issue of atmospheric air protection. The Russian partners were presented with the works carried out in this field and the legislative reforms.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the expansion of cooperation in the above directions
