The development of a management plan delegated by the Ministry of Environment is part of the UNDP program "Environmental protection of Lake Sevan" (EU4Sevan) and is implemented within the framework of the program "A. Takhtajyan Institute of Botany" (Armenia), LLC "Soluton" (Armenia), DP Conservation Ltd. (Czech Republic), Naravanarave D.o.o (Slovenia) by the consortium.
The project "Environmental Protection of Lake Sevan" (EU4Sevan) is jointly funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (OECD). It is part of the Ecoserve program funded by the OECD. The program is implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
Through brief reports, the Minister was provided with information on the work already done. The problems inventoried during this time and possible solutions to them were discussed.
Recall that the previous management plan for the Sevan National Park was developed in 2007, which was no longer updated.
During the meeting, issues related to the basic principles of work on the revision of the borders and delimitation of the borders of the national Park, the imposition of cadastral maps of communities, the inclusion of forest lands in the national park and, if possible, the elimination of the gap between the territories were discussed.
The process is in the focus of the Ministry's direct attention, meetings in a more inclusive format are planned in the near future.
