The results of the ongoing work to strengthen control measures due to the whitefish spawning period were summed up

Today, the Ministry of Environment, under the leadership of Minister Hakob Simidyan, with the participation of representatives of the Sevan National Park, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of RA, the RA Police, the Gegharkunik Regional Administration, the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body and the Yerevan Municipality, held another extended meeting to summarize the implementation of the program of joint activities and interaction carried out during the whitefish spawning period in Lake Sevan.
In order to find solutions to the problems discussed during the previous meeting, representatives of the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the Food Safety Inspection Body also took part in today's meeting.
Reports on the work carried out in the previous days were presented.
By 2021, on December 25 and 28, and on January 4, 2022, employees of the Rapid Response Department, the police and the Inspection Body of the SNCO made a tour of Lake Sevan, as a result of which 1 fishing plastic net was removed from the lake on December 25, and on December 28, 54 fishing polyethylene nets, in which there were 33 types of whitefish.
On January 4, 21 fishing polyethylene nets were extracted from the lake, in which there were 19 whitefish.
As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the branches of the SNCO and the Rapid Response Department, fishermen from the coastal areas of Lake Sevan removed fishing boats, and as a result of the activities carried out by employees, about 220 floating vehicles were withdrawn from the coastal areas.
The Rapid Response Department monitors the entire perimeter of Lake Sevan.
By the police in 2022, 1 car of the traffic police with its staff has been provided since January 5,
Sevan National Park SNCO, the police inspection body carries out mobile control over the roads bypassing Yerevan.
As a result of the implemented measures, in 2021 from December 20 to 2022 During the period of January 4, 2012, 11 cases of sale and transfer of whitefish were registered, as a result of which 955 whitefish and 1 trout were confiscated.
Minister Hakob Simidyan, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the activities carried out.
The Minister emphasized that regardless of some current problems, the practice of simultaneous combined implementation of actions is noticeable, which naturally gives its result.
The Minister urged the partners to continue the full implementation of the responsibilities arising from the program of control measures in the partnership atmosphere.
