The Ministry of Environment held a discussion on the formation of an alternative and more realistic solution to the problem of stray animals with the involvement of public organizations.
Representatives of professional departments of the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, the Center for the Neutralization of Stray Animals, the Armenian branch of the World Wide Fund for Nature, human rights activists took part in the discussion headed by Deputy Minister Anna Mazmanyan.
Representatives of the public and private sectors discussed, in particular, the distribution of stray animals in settlements and the reasons for the formation of a flock and tried to find ways to attract financial resources with local and foreign donor organizations to solve the problems of regulating the number of stray animals in nearby settlements and natural ecosystems.
The Deputy Minister, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, expressed readiness to get involved in the process of resolving the problem, if necessary, promoting professional knowledge and coordination of work with international organizations.
In the variant of sectoral solutions to resolve the problem on the part of organizations operating in this area, the existing picture, communities, the importance of creating centers for the neutralization of stray animals in several relatively large communities was noted, and the methodological support of the latter is the issue of implementation through the "Centre of Neutralization of Stray Animals " SNCO of the Yerevan Municipality.
