Stressing the importance of effective cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and the "My Forest AM" NGO and taking into account the importance of environmental conservation and reasonable use of natural resources of the Republic of Armenia, prevention or reduction of harmful effects on forests, as well as sustainable management, protection, protection, reproduction and use of forests, today the Ministry of Environment represented by Minister Hakob Simidyan and the public organization "My Forest AM" represented by the Founding Director Andre Gumushchyan, they signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Welcoming the guests at the Ministry of Environment, Minister Hakob Simidyan once again stressed the importance of close cooperation between government departments and private organizations for the benefit of the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to increase forest areas in Armenia.
"I am confident that cooperation between our two structures will contribute to the implementation of appropriate measures and programs for environmental protection, improvement, restoration and reasonable use of natural resources. I am sure that this cooperation will become a good precedent and example for other organizations. It is necessary, if possible, to combine efforts to destroy forest territories in Armenia," the minister said.
Prior to signing the memorandum, a number of priorities of bilateral cooperation and a wide range of issues related to the general state of forests in Armenia were discussed:
The Minister noted the importance of mechanisms for attracting investments in the field of the environment and steps aimed at equalizing green investments in other areas in their importance.
"We, as the policy-making body and the governing body of the sphere, and you, as an organization active in the sphere, have the same priorities and share the same vision of the future. Therefore, I must ask you to fight for the promotion of the green agenda," the minister said.
By the Memorandum, the Ministry and the public organization "My Forest AM" will cooperate on pre-agreed terms in the following areas organization of reforestation and afforestation works in pre-agreed and legally permitted territories, organization of joint work on the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in forest ecosystems, implementation of environmental programs, organization of trainings, conferences, round tables.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties also implement educational programs of a bilateral interest.
