The Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan was on a working visit to the “Office for the Implementation of Environmental Units”

The Minister held a discussion meeting with heads and employees of departments to get acquainted with the progress and results of ongoing and planned programs.
The Director of the office Armen Yesoyan and the heads of various departments presented the progress of the programs to the Minister.
The Minister stressed the importance of uninterrupted and smooth progress of the implemented programs, since each of them is aimed with its final determination at improving the state of the environment in the Republic of Armenia and improving the quality of life of citizens.
At the moment, the "Office for the implementation of Environmental Units" of the Ministry of Environment is implementing 7 programs՝
•    Strengthening the adaptation capabilities of ecosystems and communities adjacent to the specially protected areas of nature of the Republic of Armenia,
•    Engaging future leaders: creating a digital educational module on adaptation and best practices for young people,
•    Improving the sustainability of forests in Armenia by mitigating measures through adaptation and expansion of green spaces in rural areas,
•    Development of sustainable opportunities for the effective use of the biosafety information platform third national program,
•    Transition to electric mobility in Armenia,
•    Waste and flood management of the closed quarry of the city of Artik,
•    Reducing the risks of investments aimed at energy-efficient modernization of buildings.
The Minister stressed that the results of the programs should be clear and measurable, highlighting the programs containing a component of the restoration of forest territories in Armenia.
"The Armenian government has a clear commitment to increase the forest territories in the country. And on the way to implementing this commitment, it is extremely important to continue working towards results with international donor organizations," the minister said.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister stated that there is a great potential to activate the ongoing work of the programs, and everything possible should be done to breathe new life into all projects and programs and implement them.
In this context, Minister Hakob Simidyan noted the importance of the role of the office staff and their professional abilities and promised to make efforts to improve the conditions of the office building and strengthen the capabilities of employees.
