As Minister Hakob Simidyan said earlier at a meeting in the ministry, he is going to periodically participate in the program of strict control measures due to the whitefish spawning period in Lake Sevan.
Today, Minister Simidyan together with the Governor of Gegharkunik, the representatives of the Gegharkunik Regional Department of the RA Police, the representatives of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body and the inspectors of Sevan National Park took part in the removal of illegal nets from the lake.
During the event a special control of the lake will continue.
All this is aimed at the restoration of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan, the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
It should be reminded that a program of joint control measures related to the period of whitefish spawning in Lake Sevan is being implemented in the whole territory of Armenia from December 20, 2021 to January 15, 2022, in order to ensure normal reproduction.
