The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Gayane Gabrielyan and Anna Mazmanyan, Director of the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO of the MoE Levon Azizyan.
"Today we have an opportunity to discuss the current state of cooperation aimed at protecting the environment of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, issues related to cooperation, as well as issues of mutual interest. The development of partnership relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran has been and remains one of the important directions of Armenia's foreign policy for Armenia," Minister Hakob Simidyan said welcoming colleagues at the Ministry of Environment.
Referring to the centuries-old Armenian-Iranian friendly relations, the Minister stated that there are all prerequisites for establishing a higher level of cooperation in the field of nature protection.
At the meeting, the sides touched upon the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of the environment, discussed a wide range of current working issues.
Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan presented information on the current bilateral work to the partners of the Iranian side in the form of a report.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Hakob Simidyan again touched upon the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation․
"Taking into account the continuous development and the need to strengthen interstate cooperation formed as a result of the interaction of our two countries in the field of environmental protection, we attach importance to the deployment and intensification of work on issues of bilateral interest in this area. The implementation of joint programs and activities with confidence will contribute to the stability and development of the region," the Minister said and confirmed his commitment to common fundamental values.
