The Ministry of Environment will allow whitefish hunting for commercial purposes in Lake Sevan in 2022.
In order to ensure the event, an appendix to the program was compiled, which defines the maximum annual sizes of commercial fish hunting in Lake Sevan for 2022 and the characteristics of the quality of commercial hunting.
The ongoing processes are aimed at the stable use of fish and crayfish stocks in Lake Sevan, as well as at bringing fishing processes into the legal field and fishing on the basis of use agreements concluded with the authorized body, as well as at exercising proper control over the use of a resource that is an object of food security.
The validity period of the agreements on the use of animal stocks in Lake Sevan is set from April 1, 2022 to September 1, 2022.
The adoption of the project will regulate the use of biological resources and sustainable management in Lake Sevan.
