The Government approved the Ministry of Environment- developed draft at today’s session

The Government approved the Ministry of Environment-developed draft, which envisages redistribution of 208.238.5 thousand AMD planned by the 2021 state budget for "Cleaning of forest-covered areas of Lake Sevan", within the framework of which corresponding specialized apparatus will be acquired.
Earlier, by the instruction of Acting Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan, as a result of inspections, the contractor's performance of cleaning of forest-covered areas was assessed as inefficient, thus the Ministry of Environment embarked on supervising the latter’s activities directly through "Sevan" NP SNCO.
Therefore:
In order to properly effect the cleaning of Lake Sevan flooded forest cover directly by "Sevan'' national park SNCO, it is envisaged (by 2021 state budget) 1155 for "Management and preservation of natural resources and specially protected areas of nature" project, 11002 for "Cleaning of forest-covered areas of Lake Sevan" event from the amount of 208.238.5 thousand AMD.
To direct 132.570.0 thousand AMD to the purchase of specialized machinery and special apparatus for cleaning of forest-covered areas of Lake Sevan  (Article: "Transport equipment" of the economic classification of budget expenditures), within the framework of which it is envisaged to purchase 3 main specialized technical means and 6 chainsaws.
25.222.8 thousand AMD to "Sevan" National Park SNCO for the operation and maintenance of technical means for cleaning of forest-covered areas of Lake Sevan (Article: "Current grants to state-community non-commercial organizations" of the economic classification of budget expenditures) for the implementation of works during the month.
The remaining 50.445.7 thousand AMD is envisaged to address to the reserve fund of the RA Government.
After the completion of the procurement process, the clean-ups of the shores of Lake Sevan, the dismantling of illegal buildings and structures, and construction waste disposal will relaunch with renewed vigor.
In 2021, due to the shortage of time, as a result of these amendments, it will be possible to clear an area of about 50 hectares.
Meanwhile, within the framework of "EU4Sevan" project, the purchase of a lift truck in the amount of about 60.000 euros has already been approved. The relevant technical task was developed by the Ministry of Environment and was provided to the EU side.
