The first meeting of the permanent working group on Climate Change under the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on the implementation of the requirements and provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement

The Ministry of Environment hosted the first meeting of the permanent interdepartmental working group on climate change mitigation and adaptation under the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on the implementation of the requirements and provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the departments approved by the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister No. 894-a of November 4, 2021.
The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Climate Policy Department of the Ministry of Environment Nona Budoyan, who provided information on the legal framework of the climate policy sphere, international obligations assumed by the Republic of Armenia, completed and planned works.
The meeting also discussed issues related to the rules of work and outlined further steps of the group's activities.
Nona Budoyan was elected head of the working group by a majority vote.
At the end of the meeting, the participants watched a video prepared within the framework of the UNDP-GCF program "National Adaptation Plan in Armenia".

This program, implemented jointly with the Ministry of Environment, is aimed at assisting the Government of the Republic of Armenia in six target areas, including agriculture, in identifying existing climate change risks, vulnerability and adaptation measures applied, as well as in developing adaptation plans at the national and regional levels.
