The final conference of the program "Volunteer For Nature" was held

Today, Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan took part in the final conference of the "Volunteer for Nature" Program, implemented by the Armenian Society of Biologists NGO within the framework of the Small Grants Program for Graduates of Exchange programs of the US Embassy.
The purpose of the program is to develop a culture of volunteerism in environmental organizations, including in specially protected natural areas, forestry.
Greeting colleagues and volunteers, Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan once again stressed the importance of establishing the institute of volunteerism in our country and especially in the field of nature protection.
"In the context of significant progress in the field of management, protection and protection of the environment and solving existing multi-layered problems, programs aimed at developing volunteer culture in environmental organizations, specially protected natural territories and forestry are extremely important.
The establishment of the institute of volunteerism, including the creation of the necessary prerequisites for the involvement of broad segments of society in volunteering, is one of our important priorities," the Deputy Minister noted and confirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Environment to promote and create a favorable environment for the implementation of any program that is aimed at our common vision of a more protected, dynamically developing and green environment.
In turn, the US Deputy Ambassador to Armenia Chip Leitinen noted the importance of volunteer programs aimed at preserving biodiversity and the inviolability of ecosystems and expressed hope that the skills, knowledge and connections acquired as a result of the program will be used for the benefit of the development of specially protected natural territories of Armenia and sustainable management.
At the conference, the results and the guide of the "Volunteer For Nature" program, created within the framework of the same program, were presented.
Representatives of NGOs operating under the Ministry of Environment presented short-term volunteer initiatives implemented in protected areas and opportunities for volunteering in these territories.
