The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan, heads of professional departments of the Ministry, representatives of the Sevan National Park and organizations implementing the program.
The development of the Sevan National Park Management Plan is part of the UNDP program "Environmental protection of Lake Sevan" (#EU4Sevan). Gno"Takhtajyan Institute of Botany" (Armenia), LLC "Soluton" (Armenia), DP Conservation Ltd (Czech Republic), NaravaNarave d.o.o (Slovenia) consortium.
Through brief reports, the Minister was provided with information on the work already done. The problems inventoried during this time and possible solutions to them were discussed.
Recall that the previous management plan for the Sevan National Park was developed in 2007, which was no longer updated.
The Minister once again stated that as a result of the work, it is necessary to obtain such a comprehensive document that will help find solutions to existing problems and implement more effective management.
Based on the results of the inventory of biodiversity and forest areas, the territorial and functional zones of the Sevan National Park should be mapped.
The Minister drew the attention of partner organizations to the directions and priorities that the Ministry is planning today. An agreement was reached to make the meetings periodic.
